We need to start asking the hard questions
What went wrong? How can we begin to address this issue and fix it for future generations? In the name of “progress,” industrial farming emerged, and the world shifted towards large-scale agricultural practices to feed the population. But at what cost and sacrifice?
- Has hunger truly decreased in the world?
- Have ailments and diseases increased or decreased?
- Is what we are eating strengthening our bodies or harming them?
We know these are difficult questions to ask, and I am currently going through this process for myself.
Two sides to every story
Let’s be clear: Foot-and-mouth disease is no laughing matter. It is a significant concern for all of us. However, let’s take a step back and look at it another way. As the saying goes, there are two sides to every story.
While vaccines have been welcomed by some, which is their right and free will, what about those who do not want them in our food systems? What about the farmers who do not believe in vaccines? Will they have a choice?
Often, the “other side” is not publicised, so many are not truly aware of it and do not have sufficient knowledge about the matter to make a conscious decision. Before we go any deeper, we need to ask:
- What does this vaccine contain?
- How will our bodies react once it is in our system?
- Who is controlling the vaccine, and why?
An invitation to reflect
I am by no means an expert, but just a regular and concerned individual asking questions. Through my own research, even more questions have arisen. I know people may call me crazy, and some of you may unfollow, while others may react negatively. That is your choice and your right. But I have a right to ask, just as you do.
Before reacting, I invite you to ask yourself:
Why do I feel so strongly about this?
Why do I think that I need to respond, whether positively or negatively?
Why do I believe that my response is more valued than the actual questions being asked?
Does the answer lie in regenerative alternatives?
Our grandparents and great-grandparents farmed differently, and they saw much lower rates of disease. Why were they “better off”? Why are we not looking into healthier, nutrient-dense ways to produce food? Humanity is not becoming healthier or stronger; we are seeing more health issues than our forefathers ever had. So, what went wrong? Are chemicals and vaccines really the way forward?
Our food system needs to be re-evaluated. We are experiencing a global change. One where “alternative” farming practices are proving to be better for both the planet and our health.
Take a look at Farmer Angus (refer to the link below), just one of many farmers proving there is another way. Take a moment out of your busy life to watch this video with an open mind.

The True Cost of Food
We can all see meat prices rising at our local grocers. We are all feeling the pinch and having to make hard choices about what we can afford. In the ‘Director’s Cut’ video (refer to the link below), a very interesting point is raised regarding the cost of vaccines. At the end of the day, who is going to pay for it?
How The Oak Tree Was Born
The Oak Tree was born from these exact difficult questions. I decided to make a change in my own home, but I quickly realised that change isn’t easy. It can be expensive to source “greener,” eco-friendly produce, and it requires a major mind shift.
The Oak Tree is building a like-minded community that uses its collective buying power to lower costs. We want to make it affordable to eat nutrient-dense food and use chemical-free goods so our bodies can heal and our planet can follow suit.
If we stand together and support local farmers who are moving away from “conventional” farming toward more loving, eco-friendly practices, prices will drop, and our health will improve. This won’t happen overnight, but one small step by a small group of people can effect huge change.
Our Motto: Standing Together to Make a Difference
We invite anyone who resonates with this message to join us. Help educate us. We are still learning, and we welcome those with knowledge and skills to share them with everyone so we can learn from one another.
Let’s start building a new, sustainable future for our next generation. It begins with us, and more can follow easily in time. Thank you for being brave enough to ask the difficult questions.
